HISTORY IN REVIEW:
Karachi; 2nd and 3rd October, 2004:

Due to a tropical storm (3A or named ‘Onil’) in Arabian Sea near Thatta & Gujrat coast, thick clouds coming from SSW covered Karachi & other coastal areas on 1st October, 2004 with intermittent light drizzle during afternoon in city.
It started raining with thunder in Karachi at early morning of 2nd October (around 6 am) that continued light to moderate till 11 am then further rain in afternoon to night with strong NE winds especially from evening.
15 mm rain recorded at Nazimabad on that day however it might have much more in SE areas of the city as it was reported longer heavier spell there (may be over 40 mm).
And ON 3rd OCTOBER good / moderate rain showers occurred in most of city during 10 am to 12 noon with cool winds. Those were ‘cold days’ in Karachi as per ‘October’ standard as max temperature was only 26° and 29°C respectively.
Due to that storm many areas of lower and central Sindh received widespread heavy to very heavy rains during 2nd and 3rd October, 2004 with Thatta received over 140 mm and about 80 to 120 mm in Keti Bandar, Badin, Hyderabad and parts of Thar.
